The Pure Rum label responds to a growing demand from rum professionals and amateurs for natural products, offering them guarantees and transparency. It was born from the meeting between owners of rum brands, a spirits distributor and an independent working for rum festivals, who all had a common will to act for the transparency of rums and for the consumer. Together, they set up an association (french law 1901, non-profit association) which is the owner of the Pure Rum Label.
The Pure Rum label aims to allow brands to communicate in a transparent way the composition of their rums. It is based on quantifiable and measurable criteria: sugar, vanillin, glycerol, and syringaldehyde. The labeled rums are analyzed by an independent laboratory and the results are published on the website.
